The Future World?
Note: I Would Like To Apologize If This Was Already Brought Up
So I was Looking at the Guild Wars 2 Logo... And noticed That The Map looks a little bit different then our current Maps. So I highlighted the areas on the GW2 Logo To Show What Has Changed.
- Red Area : No More Snow
- Green Area : Ascalon Once Again Green
- Yellow Area : Arid & Dry Areas Are Now Green
- Blue Area : City ? Snow? Cloud?

whats the point in specualting about gw2 its just going to ruin the game when it comes out if you know everything that is going to happen

i want timetravel in GW!!!!! see tyria in say 100 years past GW1, maybe 250 years, then 500 years, and then maybe u have to change history cos the worlds dieing in the 500 year future thus u go back 100 years before GW1
srry, i like weird time jumping games
aaanyways, when GW2 opens its arms to the puplic for testing, i'll be sure to check that out

Btw I think you missed a spot. Look at the outstretch of land to the west of the Southern Shiverpeaks. Oh and LA is flooded ever since Orr rose.

This is OOOOLLLLLLDDDD NNNNNEEEEEWWWWWSSS.
From before "The Movement of the World" came out. I'd suggest you read that.
The Shiverpeaks melting is questionable, perhaps that's an oversight.
As for Orr, remember, it rose from the sea - that blown up stuff we see in GW1 may not be ALL of Orr. That big landmass that nearly goes south of what used to be the D'Alessio Arena (arena south of LA before Battle Isles) may be all that went underwater.

Risen from the ocean by the will of a powerful undead dragon, Orr no longer stands under human control. The beings roaming those lands are twisted, perverts. Drowned by magic and then raised into service by the will of a monster so terrible there are only whispers of its nature, they now serve a dragon more horrible and more powerful than any other being in Tyria.
The elder dragon of Orr rules this re-emerged continent with an indomitable will, claiming the peninsula for its own. The city of Arah, where once the True Gods walked, rose to the surface to become the creature's home. Its arrival heralded a time of cataclysm and change for the world. Though Arah lies in ruins, conquered by the dragon and its minions, those who venture onto Orrian soil say they have seen her spired towers, bedecked with rotted banners and guarded by twisted, draconian troops.
When the dragon awoke and the peninsula breached the waves, once-ruined buildings and shattered coastal highways rose above the sea as well. In addition to drowning the coastlands of Kryta and flooding Lion's Arch, this cataclysmic event even turned parts of northern Elona green again—for a time. The changes were truly cataclysmic across all of Tyria. Only the greatest of heroes dare venture within the ruined cities of Orr; to adventure there is to face the dragon and its minions directly, and that creature's power is not to be underestimated.
Many of the corsairs who inhabited the island chain before the peninsula rose again were subsumed by the dragon's power, twisted by its breath, and enslaved to its will. Ships with black sails, built from seized corsair vessels, sail along the Strait of Malchor, west of Orr. These vessels surround the Fire Islands, manned by undead minions of the dragon that fear neither fire nor sea.
This undead armada has cut off all human contact with Cantha, and the dragon’s undead army wages war even now along the northern Elonian border, preventing all in Tyria from departing for other lands...for now.

Now who ever read the article already knows this. But according to the following image... Not much of Orr was really under water?

In the picture I have indicated in red that it's the two same locations. If you look closely at the two images... there is still water In-between the bits of land. Now if Orr did rise (In the first image GW2)... wouldn't there be Land instead of Water?

I dunno. Also, I miss the pre-GW:EN Tyria map - unexplored areas looked less cartoony, and the Orr in it looked more detailed than what we have now.
The peninsula (at least in the pre-GW:EN Tyria map) was all charred, I assumed most of Orr sank and some was just blown up, I dunno what's up with GW2. But no doubt Orr has SOME islands around it, like Kryta does.

I think a lot of the textures in the new map are a lot better... But yes... A few unexplored areas look a bit cartoon-ish.
Map 1.0 - Before GW:EN Update
Map 2.0 - After GW:EN Update
You can also see what ANET was trying to do with the look of the peninsula. Before the update, the peninsula looked like it was “Sand Textured” like the Crystal Desert… But we all know that based on the Tarnished coast that if the peninsula were to dry up it would be a “Mud Texture” (Version 2.0) like the Tarnished Coast and Maguma Jungle.

The new map is more cartoony in unexplored areas, making the map almost TOO revealing to people who haven't explored much. Where's the thrill in that?
I'd say the trend began with Nightfall, if you look at the mountains in Elona's map they're fairly cartoony.
Pre-GW:EN Tyria and Cantha are realistic.
